Brown, Akers, Robideaux Saturday Winners July 21st at Stateline Speedway

POST FALLS, IDAHO – July 22, 2007 – Andy Brown passed race leader Dan Bacon to win his second straight 50-lap ICAR Racing Series main event at Stateline Speedway Saturday night. The win was his third of the season in the series.

Brown set fast time and started three rows back quickly tracking down Bacon using the high side around other cars. A wreck in turn two involving INSSA rookie and heat winner Greg McKinley and B Dash winner Nathan Fleury brought out the first caution on lap nine. The yellow allowed Brown to make the pass around Bacon on the restart.

Brown distanced himself from the pack of Bacon, who won the fast dash; Rusty Webb and Colton Garber by lap twenty. With five laps to go the yellow flag flew for a car impacting the backstretch wall.

Webb, running second, made a last dash at Brown but fell off the pace on the restart heading into turn one. Brown won by three car lengths over Bacon, Garber and Corey Junke in fourth. Webb dropped back to sixth in the last five laps.

Rathdrum, Idaho brothers Tysen and Casey Akers dominated the Hobby Car class with Tysen Akers setting fast time and winning the 20-lap main event over Ned Pennington and Billy Swift. Akers brother, Casey, won the dash race by a bumper and won the A Heat. Gary Hommel won the B Heat.

Justin Robideaux passed heat winner Ken Uttke on a restart and held off dash winner Ken Iverson to win the 20-lap main event for the Early Stocks. Robideaux also set fast time. Moscow, Idaho driver Will Krasselt won the B dash. Mike Robideaux won the A heat.

Next Saturday the Inland Northwest Winged Sprint Cars return with race winner Wes Helgeson, Tony Berry and fast time setter Kevin Burck. The Northwest Legends cars also return for race two of three at Stateline. Street Stocks are also scheduled to compete. Events start at 6pm. Adults are $10, kids under six free.
